I’m so sorry you’ve been so sick and had sorrow and upheaval in your family. I’m glad you’re back but please take care of you and yours first. We will be here when you’re able to write with whatever frequency fits into your new landscape. 🤗🙏❤️
That indeed sounds like a terrible September! Glad you're feeling better and hope it stays that way.
What really concerns me re BQwhatsit evasiveness is that Evusheld doesn't work with BQ1.1. so currently still 80% good but if that one goes dominant way more of a problem.
Evusheld is essentially monoclonals but before infection but different from the last monoclonal (bevtaliminab(?)) standing- I'm not clear on how hard it is to come up with new.
I agree that is a concern regarding Evusheld, a great product that has not seen enough use. I'm hopeful that BQ.1.1 will be a relatively transient thing but if it isn't you're right that there's a concern here for the population of people relying on Evusheld for protection. Perhaps there could be a way to update the cocktail to be more effective if need be.
Glad to hear from you again, sorry you had to endure so much.
I got my Omicron-specific booster just over a week ago. I'm going to a trade show next week, I wanted the protection to be at least mostly there. (I read that it's about 30 days after boosting to get max antibody levels.) I'll get a flu shot after I get back ... in time to be best-level immune for Philcon.
I've had so much work travel--and will have so much more in early December--that I've had to back out this year, I'm afraid. More on that in this week's newsletter, to come.

Thank you!
Love the newsletter; thanks for all you do. May you feel 100% very soon; take care of yourself in the meantime.
Thank you! Things seem to be on a solidly improving trend for now at least.

Wishing you continued recovery. Happy and Healthy New Year
Thank you, Iris! Happy new year :)

Get better! Stay that way, too.
Thanks Carl!
I'm still working out my Philcon plans but hope to be able to attend for at least a portion of it.
So, how are those plans coming? I'll be out there, but I don't know how much time I'll spend at the actual convention.

Urg. I double boosted end July and was waiting to bivalent til end oct, but I fly to LA 11/8....
I nitpick -- in fact, I own nitpicking.com -- but 10/8 was a week ago?
Edited. I cannot deal with it already being october.
